Kailzie BIG Lodge is the Bunkhouse experience reimagined with our newly refurbished self catering luxury group accommodation now available.
The Lodge sits in the very heart of the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders, just outside the vibrant town of Peebles in a beautifully secluded spot along a private road within the grounds of the Kailzie Gardens Estate. There is plentiful parking – monitored by CCTV.
It is the perfect location for active adventures and get togethers with friends and family.
Perfect for Mountain Bikers
Mountain bikers enjoy easy access to the close by world-renowned mountain bike areas of Glentress and Innerleithen. The lodge has a CCTV monitored electronic digital locked bike store, 4 dedicated fully equipped bike washing stations and maintenance stands.
There are charging facilities for E bikes within the bike store. There is a large dedicated drying room, washing machine and a powerful dehumidifier as well as ample outside drying lines.
A great walking base
We are also a great base for walking whether it be challenging hills or gentle strolls along the Tweed, golf (we have an 18 hole course literally next door), fishing (we have private fishing on nearly 2 miles of the Tweed riverbank and our own fishery with children of all ages also catered for) and horse riding at Kailzie Equestrian centre.
And we are the perfect centre for visiting outstanding historic and cultural attractions as well as the events and festivals the Borders has to offer. The BIG Lodge is the perfect place for groups of friends, families, gatherings and celebrations.
The Lodge has a variety of rooms, five in total, over two floors, all with their own dedicated private bathrooms, some en-suite. In total it can accommodate 27 but can be booked by single or multiple rooms, floors or indeed the entire bunkhouse. You have your own dedicated room – there is no sharing with anyone you don’t know. Each bed has dedicated lighting with USB ports and has superior bedding and towel provided.
Being purpose built – downstairs the Lodge offers a large ultra-modern fully equipped communal kitchen with hobs, ovens, microwaves, fridges and full array of cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery and glassware. There are two lounges with internet enabled TVs and two dining areas. WiFi throughout the Lodge.
Outside we have a patio sitting area with tables/chairs and picnic seating; it is a special spot overlooking the estate pastureland and a real evening suntrap. A great place to relax and unwind from the day.
