Frequently asked questions

How is the course delivered?

The course is delivered by videoconference, we use Zoom (a cloud based video conferencing platform). It allows users to see and interact though video, audio and chat. Our trainer uses a combination of PowerPoint, Videos and discussions to ensure all participants gain a thorough understanding of the National Water Hygiene course materials.

A reliable internet connection, ideally a laptop with video camera and microphone. A large tablet device such as an iPad can be used but it is not allowed to take the course using a mobile phone.

There are advantages and disadvantages with both, but the videoconference course can be taken from the comfort of your own home or office. Also, there is no travelling required and therefore the costs of travel and time are minimised. The National Water Hygiene Zoom courses are very popular due to these reasons.

Can I complete the National Water Hygiene Course by videoconference if I am outside of the UK?

Yes. We have had people take the course from France, Spain and Germany. You just need a good internet connection.

This does happen from time to time and because of this we always have a technical support assistant ready to try and remedy the situation. We have always managed to deal with technical problems quickly.

About three days after the course you will recieve an SMS text message from Energy & Utility Skills (EUSR). This message gives you instructions on how to install the Vircarda app on your smartphone. This app shows your registration(s) with EUSR including the National Water Hygiene registration. If you have ordered a Plastic SmartCard then this can take about three weeks to be delivered to the bill payer.
