Aim
To provide basic knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and its application in your workplace.
Structure
The course is made up of seven core modules:

2. Identification & Control of Hazards
3. Protecting You
4. Working Environment
5. Our Environment
6. Incident procedures
7. Equipment
There are three Network Modules
8. Network Operations Health Issues
9. Working in the Highway
10. Excavations
There are three Process Modules
11. Process Operations Health Issues
12. The Working Environment
13. Machinery and Equipment
Course Content
The course consists of a series of slides using Microsoft PowerPoint software.
Methodology
The approach is inclusive and informal.
Group Size
The maximum number of attendees is twelve participants.
Attendees with reading or writing difficulties
The test may be taken at a suitable location and time in privacy ensuring the individual is not isolated or embarrased.
Duration
Normally about six hours including the test.
Tutor
The Tutor is an experienced lecturer who has eighteen years experience in the water industry as a H&S Adviser/ HSE Manager. He is a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner and holds teaching qualifications including the Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector
